Brief History
Literacy Matters Ltd was formed by Sue, Andrea and Mike in November 2000. The website was launched in September 2001 with the first 'Print Your Own" resources available from January 2002
Who are we?

With extensive experience of teaching in inner city, multicultural primary schools, Andrea has also worked as an LEA advisory teacher and school improvement officer. :- email
Formerly a deputy head in a large inner city primary school, Sue has worked as a Literacy Consultant, English Adviser and Senior School Improvement Officer - and lived to tell the tale! :- email

Mike is the 'Techie' in the business. He is the one to contact with any technical queries! :- email
When she is not keeping us in check in the office, Bernice works with classroom assistants and parents. :- email

 built an excellent reputation for delivering high quality literacy training;
extensive experience of supporting schools in both the management and the teaching of literacy;
developed training packages for teachers, headteachers, governors, parents and support assistants;
written and provided training in the successful Kickstart KS1 Intervention Programme;
been involved in the National Literacy Strategy from the pilot in 1996 to October 2000.
